My final bachelor thesis - Designing a Language Learning App with Mini-Games as Cognitive Breaks to Support Attention and Engagement During Speech Therapy Session

This paper explores how the inclusion of short, non-educational mini-games as breaks within a digital language learning app can affect user engagement and attention. The goal was to investigate whether brief, unrelated games could act as cognitive refreshers, supporting users' ability to stay focused during study sessions. A prototype application was developed using Unity and C#, combining grammar-based language therapy exercises with timed mini-game breaks that were not linked to learning content or reward systems.
